Extended Deadline: California Community Schools Partnership Program - Cohort 4 Implementation Grant

Mon Nov 18 11:18:00 PST 2024

Due to the recent wildfires in LA County, the California Department of Education has extended the application deadline to Friday, March 7, 2025.

The California Department of Education (CDE) recognizes that the recent fires have disrupted educational programs in many local educational agencies (LEAs) and their respective schools in Southern California. The CDE also understands that many LEAs have needed to focus their attention on the immediate needs of students and families directly impacted by these natural disasters.

In light of these circumstances, the CDE is extending the deadline to submit applications for the 2025-30 California Community Schools Partnership Program (CCSPP) Cohort 4 Implementation Grant to Friday, March 7, 2025, for LEAs located in the counties that Governor Newsom has declared a state of emergency due to recent fires.

This extension will automatically apply to all LEAs in L.A. County. No further action is required.

The CCSPP Implementation Grants offer a remarkable opportunity for qualifying schools to secure funding for up to five years, with a potential allocation of up to $500,000 per school site. Funds can be used to support the establishment of new community schools and/or the expansion or continuation of existing community schools.

Key details about the grant application process are as follows:

Grant Duration: Up to 5 years (beginning June 1, 2025 through June 30, 2030)

Annual Funding: Up to $500,000 per school site

Extended Deadline for Los Angeles County LEAs: Friday, March 7, 2025

According to California Education Code section 8902(j)(3), the CDE will prioritize awarding implementation grants to planning grantees.
