International Polytechnic High School (IPoly) Class of 2024 Graduates 118 Seniors with Distinction

This group of students not only fulfilled their academic requirements but also contributed over 14,397 hours of community service.

International Polytechnic High School (IPoly) proudly celebrated the graduation of 118 seniors at the Fox Theater in Pomona on June 7, 2024.

The Class of 2024 has shown extraordinary dedication and perseverance, successfully completing their high school journey amidst a global pandemic. This group of students not only fulfilled their academic requirements but also contributed over 14,397 hours of community service and participated in numerous internships, demonstrating their commitment to both their personal growth and their communities.

Overcoming Challenges

Beginning their freshman year remotely due to the pandemic, these students adapted to a project-based curriculum in an online environment, learning to engage and participate virtually, even in physical education classes. Their sophomore year marked their return to campus full-time, presenting new challenges as they readjusted to in-person learning and social interactions. Despite these hurdles, the Class of 2024 persevered, showcasing their adaptability and resilience.

In her address, Principal Ginger Merritt-Paul expressed immense pride in the graduates. "Your commitment to your education is commendable, and today we celebrate your accomplishments."

Academic and Extracurricular Achievements

The achievements of this class are numerous and impressive:

·      85 seniors earned the Golden State Seal of Merit.

·      61 seniors received the President’s Award for Educational Excellence, recognizing exemplary academic achievement.

·      9 students completed their Seal of Biliteracy.

·      For the first time, all 118 students met the criteria for the Seal of Civic Engagement, a significant honor awarded by the state of California.

Furthermore, 96.6% of the graduating class will matriculate to higher education, with 40% being first-generation college students. Notably, 81% of the Class of 2024 completed at least one college course while concurrently enrolled at IPoly High School, underscoring their commitment to academic excellence and future success.

As the graduates embark on their next journey, they carry with them the lessons learned and the bonds forged during their time at IPoly High School. Congratulations to the IPoly High School Class of 2024!
