State Superintendent Tony Thurmond announced that 44 schools across California have achieved the prestigious designation of 2024 Purple Star Schools. Among these distinguished institutions, three Los Angeles County schools, within the Wiseburn Unified School District and affiliated with Da Vinci Schools, stand out for their exceptional commitment to supporting military-connected students and their families.

The following schools have been recognized:

• Wiseburn Unified, Da Vinci Communications

• Wiseburn Unified, Da Vinci Design

• Wiseburn Unified, Da Vinci Science

The Purple Star School Designation Program honors schools that go above and beyond in providing tailored support and resources to military-connected students, who often face unique challenges due to frequent relocations and changing environments.

Thurmond commended these schools stating that, “their efforts not only enrich the educational experience but also foster a sense of belonging and appreciation for our military community.”
