The Los Angeles County Science Olympiad is a regional competition held between teams of students representing 4th-12th Grade. Winning teams advance to the Southern California State Science Olympiad; success at the state level leads to the National Science Olympiad.
The Science Olympiad is an international, non-profit organization devoted to improving the quality of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education, increasing student interest in science and providing recognition for outstanding achievement in science education by both students and teachers.

DIVISIONA TOURNAMENT INFORMATION
Division A is the Elementary Science Olympiad Competition designed for grades 4th-6th Grade. There are two competition dates.

ADDITIONAL RESOURCES AND OPPORTUNITIES
We are excited to share with you this new opportunity to support elementary school Science Olympiad teams that is completely free. This new Science Olympiad x Ramboll partnership will provide you with the training and materials for 10 interactive STEM activities to enrich your curriculum. These events are only loosely tied with the 16 competitive events but it’s a great resource and way to supplement and get our elementary students excited!
We've got 2025 Test Packets and Event Starter Packs in the Science Olympiad Store, and Ward's Science Olympiad Kits for all your labs, taxonomy events and builds. Get yours now so you're ready for winter and spring tournaments.
Southern California Science Olympiad is 501(c)3 nonprofit organization which is run entirely by volunteers. We're always looking for people to help us with test writing and judging on tournament day. Most colleges and universities in Southern California also have alumni chapters that are focused on specific efforts.
