The Greater Los Angeles Education Foundation (GLAEF) and the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) are pleased to announce a generous in-kind donation from HP, Inc to support students and educators impacted by recent wildfires.

The donation will help close critical gaps in technology access and support learning continuity for affected schools, students and educators in L.A. County.

HP’s donation consists of 500 HP Chromebooks for students, 50 HP Renew Solutions laptops for teachers, 50 HP workstations, 50 Poly headsets and 50 HP printers. This contribution was possible through collaboration with the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) and aligns with Governor Gavin Newsom’s ongoing commitment to closing the gap in technology access for students impacted by the recent wildfires in L.A. County. By equipping schools with essential technology, HP is ensuring that displaced students can stay connected and engaged in their education, and that schools impacted by the wildfires can replace lost technology.

"The wildfires in L.A. County were an unprecedented disaster for our educational community, with thousands of students, teachers and staff facing the loss of their homes, communities and schools," said Dr. Debra Duardo, Los Angeles County Superintendent of Schools. "We are deeply grateful to HP for this donation, which will provide our students and educators with the tools they need to recover and succeed in the face of adversity."

GLAEF, LACOE’s philanthropic partner, has worked closely with local districts and Cal OES to ensure that resources reach the students who need them most.

"HP’s commitment to supporting wildfire relief efforts is truly commendable," said Kerry Franco, GLAEF’s President and Chief Deputy of Strategic Partnerships and Innovation. "With the support of Cal OES and Governor Newsom’s leadership, we are ensuring that students affected by wildfires have the resources necessary to continue their education without disruption."

GLAEF has raised more than $4 million for wildfire recovery, and is supporting impacted educators, staff and families with basic needs relief, mental health support, enrichment activities and education technology. The donation from HP will be distributed in coordination with local school districts.
