The Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) recently hosted the 2025 Differentiated Assistance Convening, an educational event designed to support school districts eligible for Differentiated Assistance in strengthening their systems and enhancing equitable student outcomes.
With the theme "Empowering Education: Supporting Every Student's Journey," the three-day convening brought together district leaders from across L.A. County to identify gaps, share best practices and engage in hands-on sessions aimed at implementing effective strategies. Attendees also participated in valuable networking and collaboration opportunities.
The event featured a special superintendent panel and a series of insightful breakout sessions focused on key topics such as college and career readiness, inclusion for all students—including those with diverse abilities, LGBTQ+ students, African American learners and students attending juvenile court schools.
Renowned keynote speakers included Houston Kraft from CharacterStrong, Beth Foraker, Katelyn Reed and Kirra Troeger from the UC Davis Redwood SEED Scholars Program and Dr. Bryant T. Marks from the National Training Institute on Race and Equity.
