ALACOSA Celebrates Students and Staff at Scholarship and Awards Ceremony

ALACOSA awards three students with scholarships and recognized two LACOE employees for their contributions to the education landscape of L.A. County.

On Thursday January 18, 2024, the Association of L.A. County School Administrators (ALACOSA) hosted a reception where three exceptional students received scholarships for their educational goals. At the same reception, two of LACOE’s staff, who are active members in ALACOSA were recognized for their dedication to excellence in the educational landscape of L.A. County.

ALACOSA Scholarship Recipients:

  • Moises, Juvenile Court School
  • Glenroy, Juvenile Court School
  • Jocelyn, Juvenile Court School

ALACOSA Recognition Award Recipients:

  • Michelle Herczog, Curriculum and Instruction
  • Vo Chan, Business Services

The reception included remarks from L.A. County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Debra Duardo where she celebrated the scholarship recipients for their dedication to their studies and highlighted the importance of supporting students at every step of their academic career, so they can achieve their dreams. Dr. Duardo also extended a message of gratitude to both Michelle and Vo for their contributions to ensure L.A. County students develop the skills and knowledge to excel in their academics.
