Mon Apr 08 08:19:00 PDT 2024
Attendees will have a chance to tour innovative schools, learn about the adaptive re-use of the former Northrop Grumman four-story building, and hear about the LEED Silver Certification.
Join the Los Angeles County Office of Education for the Third Annual Green Schools Symposium, taking place on May 3rd at Da Vinci High Schools Wiseburn, located at 201 N. Douglas Street in El Segundo. Attendees will have a chance to tour innovative schools (three schools under one giant skylight!), learn about the adaptive re-use of the former Northrop Grumman four-story building, and hear about the LEED Silver Certification from the students, the designers, Gensler, and the builder, Balfour Beatty.
Following breakfast and a custom coffee bar, we'll hear from thought-leader Eric Corey Freed. In addition to the tour of the school, attendees can rotate between two engaging and collaborative breakout sessions before picking up a boxed (compostable!) lunch to go or stay and network with peers. To sign up for the event, visit the registration page.
The Green Schools Symposium is a collaborative effort between LACOE and the Greater Los Angeles Education Foundation, LACOE's philanthropic partner. It is a leadership event delving into the crucial intersection of environmental and human sustainability in education. In addition to being an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals who are passionate about creating sustainable and eco-friendly learning environments, participants range from facility directors to administrators and educators. This event welcomes everyone interested in making a positive impact on our planet.
