The Professional Development Day not only provided valuable training and development opportunities but also fostered collaboration and networking among professionals from different agencies.

LACOE’s School Financial Services (SFS) hosted its second annual Professional Development Day on February 5. The event brought together over 200 attendees from multiple school agencies. It featured training sessions led by various SFS units, representing financial, procurement, budget, security and workflow, payroll, retirement, credential and human resources teams.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Emily Hernandez from the Employee Assistance Service for Education (EASE), who inspired the attendees with insightful perspectives and actionable strategies on stress management. The event received generous support from the Greater Los Angeles Education Foundation, Schools First Federal Credit Union and SWING Education.

The Professional Development Day not only provided valuable training and development opportunities but also fostered collaboration and networking among professionals from different agencies. The diverse range of sessions and the expertise of the speakers contributed to a highly enriching experience for all participants.

The positive feedback received from the event continues to show the meaningful impact and the need to continue to create professional development opportunities for the district staff. School Financial Services aims to continue this tradition of excellence and support the growth and development of school district business staff.
