The Los Angeles County Office of Education is holding an Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) Enrollment Event to help families get fast, reliable internet at home. Having access to broadband is essential for work, school, finding resources and staying in touch with loved ones. Yet, many lower income households struggle with connection problems, and worry about paying for their internet bills. 

The ACP is a federally funded program that helps income-eligible households substantially reduce the high cost of quality home internet. Eligible households can get a $30 monthly discount on home internet and a one-time $100 discount for a computer or a tablet. More than two million eligible households have already signed up for ACP benefits. To bridge the digital divide, LACOE is holding the ACP Enrollment Event next month. 

WHAT: Affordable Connectivity Program Enrollment Event 

WHEN: Saturday, May 6, 2023, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.  

WHERE: LACOE Education Center West, 12800 Ardis Ave., Downey, CA 90242 

To sign up for ACP during the event, residents must bring the following items: 

1. Identity Document (one of the following): 

· U.S Driver’s License 

· Government ID: State ID, U.S. Military ID 

· Passport (current from any country) 

· Individual Taxpayer ID number 

· Matricula or Visa Consular Card 

· Birth Certificate (any country) for the minor that is the Benefit Qualifying Person (BQP) 

2. Eligibility Document (one of the following): 

· Monthly statement from Medi-Cal, CalFresh, WIC 

· Proof of participation in National School Lunch Program (NSLP) at CEP designated school 

· PELL Grant Award Letter 

3. A valid email address; a representative can help you set up an email if you don’t have one.
