In addition to early learning programming and technical support, several teams at LACOE provide services that can further support families seeking effective early childhood education.
LACOE provides services and support to help address the challenges that children and families experiencing homelessness face in enrolling, attending and succeeding in educational programming.
LACOE provides support services for students who experience the traumatic effects of being removed from their home, school instability, and multiple placements in foster care. Our goal is to build capacity and increase multi-sector collaboration amongst child welfare, probation, education, and community agencies to improve educational outcomes for students in foster care.
LACOE's Migrant Education program supports high-quality, comprehensive educational programs and services that address the unique needs of migratory children. We help migratory children and families overcome educational disruption, cultural and language barriers, social isolation, various health-related problems and other challenges they may face.
